Ø DEFINITION
Active Voice : Active sentence is a sentence in which the subject was
performing an act or
activity.
Passive Voice : Passive sentece is a sentence where the subject of his sentence
subject to a
work by object sentence.
Ø RUMUS
Active Voice : SUBJECT + VERB 3 + OBJECT
Passive Voice : SUBJECT + BE + VERB 3 + OBJECT
Ø EXAMPLE
1. Present Tense
Active Voice : Tika read the history book of
Indonesia.
Passive Voice : The history book of Indonesia is read
by Tika.
2. Past Tense
Active Voice : We cleaned the room.
Passive Voice : The room was cleaned by us.
3. Past Perfect Tense
Active Voice : Tika had listened the news before you
told her.
Passive Voice : The news had been listened by Tika
before you told her.
4. Past Continuous Tense
Active Voice : They were watching the movie when she
came.
Passive Voice : The movie was being watched by them
when she came.
5. Past Perfect Continuous Tense
Active Voice : Evans had been preparing the schedule
for two weeks.
Passive Voice : The schedule had been being prepared by
Evan for two weeks.
