ACTIVE AND PASSIVE VOICE

Ø  DEFINITION
Active Voice   : Active sentence is a sentence in which the subject was performing an act or
  activity.
Passive Voice  : Passive sentece is a sentence where the subject of his sentence subject to a
  work by object sentence.

Ø  RUMUS
Active Voice   : SUBJECT + VERB 3 + OBJECT
Passive Voice  : SUBJECT + BE + VERB 3 + OBJECT

Ø  EXAMPLE
1.    Present Tense
Active Voice        : Tika read the history book of Indonesia.
Passive Voice       : The history book of Indonesia is read by Tika.
2.    Past Tense 
Active Voice        : We cleaned the room.
Passive Voice       : The room was cleaned by us.
3.    Past Perfect Tense
Active Voice        : Tika had listened the news before you told her.
Passive Voice       : The news had been listened by Tika before you told her.
4.    Past Continuous Tense
Active Voice        : They were watching the movie when she came.
Passive Voice       : The movie was being watched by them when she came.
5.    Past Perfect Continuous Tense
Active Voice        : Evans had been preparing the schedule for two weeks.
Passive Voice       : The schedule had been being prepared by Evan for two weeks.

Ø  ACTIVE VOICE => PASSIVE VOICE   
1.        Active Voice      : Did they buy the cars?
Passive Voice     : Were the cars bought by them?
2.        Active Voice      : Did he write the letter?
Passive Voice     : Was the letter written by him?
3.        Active Voice      : Does she repair the work immediately?
Passive Voice     : Is the work repaired by her immediately?
4.        Active Voice      : Did he print the file?
Passive Voice     : Was the file printed by him?
5.        Active Voice      : Am I feeding cats now?
Passive Voice     : Are cats being fed now?
6.        Active Voice      : Is Jihan watering those flowers now?
Passive Voice     : Are those flowers being watered by Jihan?
7.        Active Voice      : Are they repairing those computers when I am coming?
Passive Voice     : Are those computers being repaired when I am coming?
8.        Active Voice      : Is mother cooking the food her husband?
Passive Voice     : Is the food being cooked by mother for her husband?
9.        Active Voice      : Am I eating Sandwich?
Passive Voice     : Is sandwich being eaten by me?
10.    Active Voice      : Is she bringing many books?
Passive Voice     : Are many books being brought by her?

Ø  PASSIVE VOICE => ACTIVE VOICE
1.        Passive Voice     : Am I being forced to marry him?
Active Voice      : Is she forcing me to marry him?
2.        Passive Voice     : Is this lecture being studied by them?
Active Voice      : Are they studying this lecture?
3.        Passive Voice     : Are many problems being solved with him?
Active Voice      : Is he solving many problems?
4.        Passive Voice     : Is to read book being loved by Luna and Ron?
Active Voice      : Are Luna and Ron loving to read book?
5.        Passive Voice     : Was a  cake made by Asri this morning?
Active Voice      : Did Asri make a cake this morning?
6.        Passive Voice     : Were Tom and Jerry movies wacthed by them last sunday?
Active Voice      : Did they watch Tom and Jerry movies last sunday?
7.        Passive Voice     : Is Zulfi helped by Faisal?
Active Voice      : Does Faisal help Zulfi?
8.        Passive Voice     : Is chicken eaten by Mira?
Active Voice      : Does Mira eat chicken?
9.        Passive Voice     : Is Vira bitten by Johny?
